Police in Davis have identified a suspect in the door-to-door scam operation they warned residents of earlier in August.

Anthony Maurice McCune, a 28-year-old West Sacramento resident, is suspected of knocking on Davis resident’s doors claiming to be soliciting money for a company called Urban Development Solutions.

In two cases, residents gave McCune a check only to find that he had altered the amount to be high – as well as adding his name so that he could cash it.

McCune is said to dress in nice attire when going door-to-door, sometimes wearing an I.D. badge that makes him look official.

Police believe that McCune is still trying to scam people.

Anyone who believes they have been victimized by McCune is asked to call police.
