The Sacramento Police Department has released a sketch of a man they say sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in the Pocket area earlier in August.

According to a press release from police, the incident happened on August 14 around 3:10 p.m. near Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive. The girl was in front of her home when the man walked up to her and tried to strike up a conversation.

At some point during the conversation, police say he touched the girl on the outside of her clothing.

The girl was able to get away without being hurt, police say.

Thursday, a composite sketch of the suspect was released. Police describe him as a being a middle aged, mixed race, heavy set man who stands about 5’10’’. He is also said to have a predominate double chin.

The man showed up to and left the scene in a late-model silver van, which police got a partial picture of.

Police note that, at this time, there is no indication that the man has assaulted anyone else.

Anyone with information on who the man may be is asked to call Sacramento Police at (916) 264-5471.
