Firefighter at the Rim Fire

Labor Day campers are being asked to be extra careful with their campfires during the holiday weekend.

With seven active wildfires in California, particularly the destructive Rim Fire in Tuolumne County, Cal Fire officials say crews have been extremely busy this fire season.

More than 8,000 firefighters are battling those fires.

Cal Fire says campers need to get a campfire permit and check local fire restrictions, and clear a 10-foot radius of grass and debris around the fire pit.

Additionally, Cal Fire uploaded this video on campfire safety.
