Bomb Squad Finds Suspicious Device Near Sac State to be Harmless

The bomb squad took care of a suspicious device to close the first day of fall semester classes at Sacramento State University.

According to the Sacramento State Police Department, the school’s facility personnel found two objects wrapped in black tape with visible wires just after 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The devices were seen near the west side of campus near the train embankment.

Officers first secured the area, then called the Sacramento Police Department’s bomb squad for help.

The squad soon found that the objects were harmless.

Sacramento State Police would still like to remind students to report any unusual devices.
