For $2.4 million dollars, you can buy an entire city block in Tracy.
Seven lots on East 11th between E and F Streets are for sale, according to the real estate broker who put the block on the market, Byron Alvarez.
The land and the buildings are included in that price. The current businesses on the 100 block of E. 11th have leases that will terminate within the next two years.
“It will be up to the new developer to decide what he or she wants to do with this land.” Alvarez told FOX40 Monday.
But, there’s one business on the block that doesn’t want to leave.
“This diner has been here since 1956,” said Johnny’s Diner owner Johnny Machuca. Johnny’s, formerly Wallie’s, has a long standing history in Tracy. “There’s tradition here.”
Alvarez told FOX40 there’s a good chance a fast food restaurant or two will pop up on the block.
“But, there’s no way of telling what the developer will want,” Machuca said.
The lease at Johnny’s Diner is up in March. So far, according to Alvarez, the block had one offer that fell through. The fate of E. 11th between E and F streets in Tracy remains up in the air.
