Sacramento Police Investigating In Custody Death

Police are investigating an in custody death stemming from an incident that happened right across of a police station.

Bystanders in the area were reportedly holding down a man acting strangely near Franklin Boulevard and 27th Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sacramento Police told FOX40.

By the time police showed up, the man had rolled under a car.

Officers were able to detain the man and handcuffed him, but the man started to go unresponsive.

An officer started CPR on the man and emergency responders soon had him in an ambulance. But, the man was later pronounced dead.

No excessive force was used in the incident, police note. An investigation into the incident is under way.
