A suspect is on the loose after shooting a K-9 officer and shooting at officers early Friday morning in Rio Linda.

Sacramento Police Department saw a stolen car in Sacramento at Dry Creek and Bell.

The car took off and ended up in Rio Linda on 16th and Elverta.

The suspect took off running, and cops went after him. The suspect shot at officers multiple times and missed, police say.

There were two K9 units assisting the officers and the suspect hit one of the K9’s in the leg. The K9, identified as Drago, was taken to a 24 vet hospital and the suspected shooter ran off.

A perimeter is currently set up and Sacramento Police Department, Citrus Heights Police Department, a SWAT team and CHP are all out on the scene.
