ELK GROVE —
Officers blasted through red lights across Sacramento county Friday night–chasing a speeding driver.
That driver was on the run from accusations that he pulled a gun in a couple during a road rage face off in Rancho Cordova near Coloma Road and Trinity River.
“I was getting very nervous at the time,” said Kathleen Dao of Elk Grove.
That’s how Dao was feeling as she watched that speeding driver swerve onto her street, Sage Glen Way in Elk Grove.
The blue Pirus that had eluded police from Galt and Elk Grove, CHP and Sacramento county sheriff’s deputies was finally stopped by a spike strip.
That came only after high speed twists and turn on parts of Highway 50, south 99 and city streets.
The driver ended up with his foot finally off the accelerator and his hands in cuffs.
“He started yelling a lot of stuff…things…sounded like I’m sorry,” said Dao.
Friday night officers weren’t releasing the driver’s name or providing any update about the gun he supposedly brandished earlier in the day.
