Authorities have made an arrest in the suspected arson of a Vacaville fruit packing company.

The fires happened back on Oct. 9, according to the Vacaville Police Department. Fire crews, as well as police officers, showed up to the Mariani Fruit Packing Company that day due to a structure fire.

Crews were able to douse the flames, but not before a lot of damage was done.

Investigators later found that there were, in fact, three separate fires started by an arsonist that day.

Tuesday, detectives zeroed in on the suspected arsonist – 20-year-old Fairfield resident Edward Burke IV. Police say Burke is a temporary employee of Mariani, having worked for the company for the past three months.

Detectives are still looking for information on the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mark Ferreira at (707) 449-5258.
