A Pacific Career & Technology High School student was arrested for bringing two guns to campus, the school district announced Tuesday.
No one was hurt in the incident, officials stress.
The student – who has been identified as 18-year-old Jaisun Andrade – was arrested Tuesday afternoon, according to a release from Twin Rivers Superintendent Dr. Steven Martinez.
Authorities have not commented on the student’s intentions in bringing the weapons to campus, but they do note that it was a parent who tipped them off.
“On behalf of Twin Rivers, I would like to thank the parent who notified school administrators after she learned about a potential threat on the Pacific campus,” Martinez wrote in a statement.
According to Andrade’s Sacramento County Jail booking information, he faces three felony counts of bringing firearms to school grounds, concealing a loaded firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm.
Andrade is being held on $26,500 bail.
