Surveillance footage of the two suspects.

Authorities have released surveillance photos of the two people suspected of burglarizing the Society for Handicapped Children and Adults thrift store.

The burglary happened back on Oct. 7, but Modesto Police didn’t learn about the incident until Tuesday due to a problem with the store’s surveillance system.

Police say that a man and a woman entered the McHenry Avenue store around 4:30 p.m. that day and were able to make off with cash from the register. The woman in question distracted an employee while the man somehow got the register to open.

An undisclosed amount of cash was lost.

The suspects drove off in a dark-colored newer-model Volvo, police note.

Anyone with information on the burglary, or who knows who the suspects may be, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
