Fugitive Wanted on Attempted Murder Charge Found in Mexico

A Citrus Heights man wanted on an attempted murder charge was arrested in Mexico, the FBI announced Wednesday.

FBI agents located 21-year-old Jose Manuel Aguilera in the Mexican state of Querétaro on an unspecified date this fall, according to a media release from the Sacramento Division of the FBI.

Agents soon arrested Aguilera on a warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and he was taken back to Sacramento on Tuesday.

Aguilera faces a single count of attempted murder.
