Ripon Police say the number of reported mail thefts has gone up recently.

Mailboxes in the city and surrounding areas have been broken into at night, investigators say. Police ask people to collect their mail daily.

Officials also advise the public sending out valuables, like checks, to drop them off at the post office.

If you see suspicious activity near mailboxes, you are asked to call Ripon Police.
