Auburn Police say an intoxicated man tried to fight a 7-11 clerk early Tuesday morning because the lotto ticket machine wasn’t available at the time.

Jeremy Stigge was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. for the incident.

Investigators say Stigge, 30, was under the influence of a controlled substance and was upset that the lottery ticket machine didn’t work that early in the morning.

The clerk pushed the silent alarm after Stigge challenged him to a fight, according to police.

Once at the Placer County Jail, police say Stigge was found to have two Hydrocondone pills on him. He now faces additional charges of having a control substance without a prescription and bringing that substance into jail.

Stigge is held on $35,000 bail.
