Building Evacuated after White Powder is Found

An office building in Roseville was evacuated Friday after a white powdery substance was discovered, Placer County Sheriff’s deputies said.

According to investigators, the substance was found in an envelope.

Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Dena Erwin said later in the day that the substance turned out to be calcium carbonate, which is non toxic.

The building is near the corner of Douglas and Sierra College Boulevard.
