Police in Davis are saying that the latest attempted sexual assault does not look to be connected to another attempted assault from late October.

In the latest attack, a woman was reportedly walking near Mace Boulevard and El Macero Drive around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday when a man grabbed her. He reportedly put an arm around her waist and then covered her mouth with his other hand.

The attacker then tried to drag her to a lawn of a nearby home, but she was able to fight the man off and free herself from his grip. He then ran from the area.

Police note that the suspect is a white or Hispanic man in his late 20’s to early 30’s, standing nearly 6’ tall with a medium build – a different profile than the attacker from the October incident.

Distinguishing features about the suspect, police note, are that he had sideburns and a mustache at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Davis Police at (530) 747-5400.
