Bail Agent Accused of Asking Gang Members to Commit Crimes

Modesto Police say a bail agent visited gang members in prison to ask them to commit crimes.

Praveen Singh was arrested Wednesday after an investigation that began in 2012. Investigators say Singh visited Stanislaus County Jail as a criminal defense investigator.

There, police say Singh asked active gang members to commit a drive-by shooting at the home of a law enforcement officer and to rob an illegal marijuana grow.

Singh is charged with an attempted shooting at an inhabited house, soliciting the commission of a shooting of an inhabited house and soliciting the commission of a robbery.
