A man was arrested after his Riverbank home caught fire early Wednesday morning.

Flames shot out from the garage and front door when Stanislaus County Firefighters got to the scene around 6:20 a.m. on Castle Park Drive near Terminal Avenue. The roof collapsed soon after.

Firefighters said the man, Nick Jenkins, was running around and getting in the way while they were trying to put the fire out and later got in the way of the investigation. They were not able to provide details as to how he interfered.

Jenkins was uninjured and the fire didn’t spread to any other home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
