Police in Stockton say two men stole a woman’s car after helping her change a flat tire Thursday morning.

The woman was stopped along N. West Lane, near Sutherland Drive, investigators say. She was changing the front passenger-side tire on her 1994 white Honda Accord when two men pulled up to help.

Investigators say the men helped swap the tire and put the flat in the truck. As the woman went to offer them cash for their assistance, officers say they snatched her keys and took off with her car.

The two fled north down West Lane, according to police.

Detectives describe one of the men as “husky,” 5’4″ and bald with a circular hair spot on the top of his head. He was wearing a white shirt and black pants, oval-framed glasses and blue contact lenses. The other man is said to be about 5’3″, thin with a short, fade haircut. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Both men are reportedly about 19 or 20 years old, and have colorful tattoo sleeves.

The license plate number on the car is 5UIF192.
