Divers for the Drowning Accident Rescue Team have been spending Sunday night searching the Mokelumne River for a car off the road.

An assistant fire chief saw skid marks going over the side of a road near Tyler Island Road, about four miles south of Walnut Grove, officials tell FOX40.

A car was found and pulled out of the river around 8 p.m. The car appears to be empty.

Divers have been looking for any possible victims in very cold and muddy water.
