Another ski resort has had to close because of the lack of snow in the Sierra.

Royal Gorge announced on twitter they were closing until further notice.

The cross country ski resort is in Soda Springs, along I-80 just west of Truckee.

Royal Gorge said they still had visitors over Christmas, and was able to shovel snow to fill in the tracks. However, recently they have run out of fresh snow and cannot shovel enough to keep the tracks open.

They said one good storm should be enough to open at least a few trails.

Donner Ski Ranch, also in Soda Springs, closed earlier this week.
