Tibetan Monks have been pouring their focus, energy, and two weeks of time into carefully arranging millions of specs of sand into a design.

The Gaden Shartse Monks have been practicing the ancient art form at the Cosmic Cafe during their annual trip to Placerville, one of their stops on their U.S. tour.

Hundreds of people come to see the intricate and colorful design, which is destroyed after completion to symbolize that nothing is permanent.
