Police: Elderly Man Beats Robber with Golf Club

An elderly man went down swinging after two robbers confronted him Saturday afternoon, police say.

According to a release from the Stockton Police Department, the 80-year-old man was walking along the greenbelt near William Moss Boulevard and Sacchetti Circle around 3 p.m. when two men approached him.

One of the suspects knocked the man to the ground, but victim was able to pull out a golf club he was carrying and hit the suspect in the head with it. However, at the same time, the other suspect was able to pull the victim’s wallet out of his pocket.

Both of the suspects eventually took off running towards Carolyn Weston Boulevard.
