Police in Benicia say a Matthew Turner Elementary school teacher made several coworkers sick with cannabis-laced food at a potluck in November.

Officers arrested 47-year-old Teresa Badger Friday afternoon at her Benicia home.

After the Nov. 21, after-hours pot luck at an employee’s house, several of Badger’s coworkers reported feeling sick, police say.

Investigators say one employee went to the hospital, and her blood work revealed THC – which is found in cannabis. Another person at the potluck apparently said some of the leftovers were eaten by a child, who also reported feeling sick.

In working with the Benicia Unified School District, investigators say they identified Badger as the person responsible for the laced food.

Badger was booked into the Solano County Jail on a poisoning charge.
