Detectives have arrested two men in connection to the murder of a Citrus Heights man at a Marconi Avenue apartment complex back in January.

Christopher Bernal, 33, and Jacob Reed Fisher, 20, were arrested on murder charges Monday, according to a release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. Detectives believe that the fatal shooting resulted from an ongoing dispute between the suspects and 34-year-old David Justin Gonzales, the victim.

The shooting happened back on the night of Jan. 18. Deputies responding to the scene found Gonzales suffering from a gunshot wound. He was soon pronounced dead at the scene.

Bernal and Fisher are being held at Sacramento County Jail and are ineligible for bail.

Detectives are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115.
