After nearly 30 years in the River City, the Sacramento Capitals tennis franchise announced Tuesday that it is relocating to Las Vegas.
A newsletter from the organization cites the need to an adequate facility for matches as its reason for leaving.
The Capitals played in Sacramento for 28 seasons at a variety of venues. Their 29th will be played at the Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center in Las Vegas.
General Manager Kolleen McNamee said the decision to look outside of Sacramento was difficult.
