A creek, swollen from the weekend’s rain, helped stop a robber in Roseville.

Monday afternoon a man approached the pharmacy counter at a drug store along Douglas Boulevard. He demanded prescription narcotics, and threatened to shoot the employee.

The clerk gave the man the drugs, and he left the store.

Witnesses helped direct officers to nearby Saugstad Park, where the man was spotted.

Officers watched as the robber, holding the bag of stolen drugs, dove into Dry Creek. The creek, which was deeper than normal Monday afternoon, proved too difficult for the robber.

The man swam back to shore and surrendered to Roseville Police. He dropped the bag of medications in the water, but officers later retrieved it.

Sean Krueger was arrested and faces charges of robbery and possessing stolen property.
