17-Hour Health Fair to Help People Enroll for Coverage

Healthcare Deadline ApproachingSACRAMENTO –

The SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW) will be hosting a health fair on Monday, March 31 to help people sign up for health coverage.

The 17-hour “enroll-a-thon” will be held from 7 a.m. to midnight at the SEIU-UHW office at 1911 F Street in Downtown Sacramento. The event is designed to help people sign up for free and low-cost health coverage through Medi-Cal or Covered California.

The deadline to sign up for health coverage without paying a fine is March 31 at midnight.

Anyone wishing to enroll needs to bring proof of identity, proof of address, proof of income tax filings from 2012, 2013 or the last 30 days of paystubs and proof of citizenship. Birthdates, social security numbers and zip codes are also required.
