SAN FRANCISCO-

Giants fans from all over northern California were out in droves Tuesday for their team’s home opener.

Though the Giants will play many home games this season, most fans agree that nothing can compare to opening day.

“I went to all of them at the stick, but this is my second one here at the park,” longtime fan Deanna Moonay said.

Little Grace McCollum has been to six, and she’s only 5 years old. The math isn’t wrong. Grace’s mother, Marcella McCollum, brought her to a home opener when she was only a week old.

Today, Grace got to skip school to be at the game.

“She’s in pre-K so we figure it’s important to continue the tradition,” mom said.

Grace, of course, wasn’t the only person at AT&T Park playing hookie. Fans FOX40 spoke with had a range of excuses from “I called in sick” to “it’s a national holiday” to “it’s my birthday.”
