A mobile command center outside of City Hall enabled law enforcement, fire officials and paramedics to watch real time traffic updates during peak rush hours, and deploy emergency crews on the best possible routes.

fix50“It’s best to move out of the way if you see an emergency vehicle” Division fire chief Becky Ramirez told FOX40.

There are no extra lanes provided for emergency vehicles to use during the project.

Since several alternate routes during the Fix 50 project run through West Sacramento, officials say West Sacramento drivers will experience the worst conditions.

Meanwhile, West Sacramento schools are anticipating some Fix 50-related delays and are urging parents to plan ahead.
