First Day of Fix 50 Construction Cripples Commute

In the darkness of the early morning, the drive through Fix 50 construction went smoothly. But as the sun came up, the morning commute slowed to a glacial pace.

The Jefferson Boulevard onramp in West Sacramento turned the street into a virtual parking lot, and drivers felt every minute of it.

One driver said he’d gone only 30 yards in 20 minutes.
