Big Day of Giving; Hundreds of Sacramento Nonprofits Need Your Donations

For 24 hours, nonprofit organizations around the Sacramento area will be asking for donations. It’s part of a regional effort to increase philanthropy.

The Big Day of Giving kicks off at midnight on Tuesday, May 6 and goes for 24 hours until late Tuesday night. Donations made through the  website, and directed to a Sacramento, Placer or Yolo county organization, during that 24-hour period are eligible for a boost from a pool of matching funds.

Give Local Now is an organization in the Sacramento Region that encourages people to donate to local nonprofits. The May 6 Big Day of Giving is a nationwide effort, happening in cities across the country.

In Northern California, hundreds of organizations are taking part. Click here to see the full list of nonprofits you can donate to on May 6.
