A crazy commute in Cool Thursday morning drove chiropractor Mark Casha to focus on the kind of adjustments he’s not used to making – ones to avoid disaster.
A silver Honda was making double yellow line passes around cars near the intersection of Highways 193 and 49, eventually flipping off the side of the road.
“I was thinking she must have been in an awful hurry, but it sure was not the right thing to do,” said Mark Casha, who was passed by that car.
The California Highway Patrol has yet to weigh in with any charges for what they say 44-year-old Honey Brazeal was doing behind the wheel of her Honda, but they’re getting a good look at exactly what happened thanks to Casha.
“You can see the dash camera, I’ve had it less than a week, just still figuring out how it’s working. It’s doing a great job,” said Casha about his latest purchase from the Sharper Image.
It was working so well it captured clear evidence of what folks who regularly drive along 49 and 193 C say is a huge problem that has to stop.
“I deliver the mail, I have people passing me upset that I’m going the speed limit, upset that I have to stop. Ya sure we see that,” said Rebekah Allen.
“They do..they pass where they’re not supposed to in curves and go around into oncoming traffic,” said Jean Walters.
“It’s not surprising unfortunately. People race up and down that canyon…some people even comment they like it cuz it’s pretty windy. People need to slow down and leave earlier,” said John Goodwin.
Brazeal was taken to the hospital after the crash, but her condition was not available Thursday night.
CHP officers are still looking into the incident, but can confirm that she was not drunk during her wild ride.
