A 36-year-old man is dead and a South Stockton home gutted by fire after at multiple gunmen blasted that home with more than two dozen rounds.
Stockton Police say the shooting is almost certainly gang related.
“It was like a firing range,” said one neighbor of the shooting just after midnight Sunday.
Small, white evidence stickers marked each bullet hole. The house and nearby fences were riddled with them.
Police say one of the bullets likely struck fireworks stored in the home, and that set-off the fire.
The man killed was not a resident of the house on 7th Street, and police don’t know if he was the target of the shooters. They also don’t have any description of the shooters and are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
