Charlie the dog seems really happy, and he ought to be after the ordeal this purebred beagle went through.
His owner had left him Thursday evening in the back of the Roseville Costco parking lot, with all 4 windows rolled down, and with water.
David Gulzadah was inside only 20 minutes to grab some items for his camping trip, and when he returned, Charlie was gone, and a note was left behind. It read “WATER OUR DOG, OR LEAVE IT AT HOME”.
Roseville Police spent 2 days investigating the crime. Then, on Saturday, the couple that took Charlie turned him over to a dog rescue in Auburn because they were overwhelmed with the media coverage.
Both Charlie and David are back in good spirits after a weekend apart and with lots of uncertainty.
“It was kind of a tough beginning to a camping trip,” said Gulzadah, “but a really good ending to it and I’m glad to be taking him home.”
