John Baxter, 31, and Ashley Johnson, 25, were arrested for pimping and pandering and child abuse in Stockton.

An ER nurse called the San Joaquin County Sheriffs Office to report a child abuse case, and the sheriffs’ investigation discovered a much more alarming crime.

On Monday, a woman brought in her son, 10, for medical care. A nurse then called the county sheriffs to report that she believed the child had been severely abused. The next day, sheriffs took over the investigation and learned there was a second child that was also being abused, the victim’s 8-year-old brother.

Upon gaining this knowledge, police searched a home on the 2800 Block of S. El Dorado St. in Stockton; the search uncovered alleged pimping and prostitution.

Ashley Johnson, 25, was arrested for pimping and pandering, and conspiracy, and John Baxter Sr, 31, was arrested for the same charges, as well as child abuse and child endangerment.
