A wildfire quickly grew Tuesday afternoon, forcing several neighborhoods to evacuate.

The fire started just after noon along Butts Canyon Road, northeast of Calistoga in Napa County. In just the first two hours, the fire spread to more than 300 acres.

By 6 p.m., the fire had spread to 2,500 acres and was 30 percent contained.

About 150 homes were evacuated, Cal Fire said.
