A wildfire sparked Thursday afternoon near the Shasta County community of Igo, and quickly grew to 2,500 acres in its first six hours.

Dubbed the Bully Fire, firefighters said it was just 10 percent contained as of 9:30 p.m. Its spread slowed overnight. Firefighters say it only grew another 300 acres by Saturday morning.

Mandatory evacuation orders were in effect from Bland/Patina to Bland/Roaring Creek and west to Graves Ranch, Cal Fire said. Evacuees were able to meet at Grant School in Redding.

A cause of the fire was not immediately known.
