A mom says she was asked to leave a Brad Paisley concert in Chula Vista because she was nursing her 4-month-old daughter.

Police told Megan Christopherson she was endangering her infant and other daughter by being in the “pit” area of the concert venue.

Christopherson recorded her interaction with the officers and posted it to Youtube. The clip has since been removed.

After she is asked to leave, Christopherson asks why. Police say she is putting her baby in danger because of the loud music and possibility the baby could be crushed if the crowd surges forward. The officer tells her they consulted with the District Attorney’s Office before removing her.

Christopherson says she was asked to leave because she was breastfeeding her baby earlier, and had been approached by a security officer and asked to stop.

Chula Vista Police released a statement Friday, “The Chula Vista Police Department’s involvement in the incident was due to the welfare and safety of the infant and not due to a mother’s legal right to breastfeed in public,” the statement concluded.
