Detectives in Riverbank are investigating a murder that happened on Tuesday night, and they have identified a suspect.

According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, the murder happened around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday night when somebody killed a man, 59, in an altercation on Texas Avenue, just over a block away from Riverside Avenue.

Deputies found the victim, partially clothed, lying in the front yard of a home. An adult woman was found hiding in the home; she was unhurt. After an autopsy the case was determined to be a murder.

Police have identified Isaac James Vaughn, 33, of Riverbank, as their suspect in the case. Vaughn is also known to use the name Daniel Cross.

Vaughn is currently at large, considered dangerous and is wanted by Sheriff’s detectives for questioning.
