Fed-up with the national ranking of seventh highest in auto theft, law enforcement in San Joaquin County has gotten a grant to buy steering wheel locks. Now, they are giving those locks away.
To get one, all you have to do is live in San Joaquin County, and own one of the most commonly stolen cars.

CHP and city police departments are participating in the program, which starts Monday.
There will likely not be enough locks for everyone.
The locks will be given-out on a first come, first serve basis.
