Junction Fire Destroys Several Homes, Burns Near Propane Company

By Tuesday night, the Junction Fire in Madera County had burned 612 acres, with 35% containment by firefighters.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.

The fire destroyed eight structures, including a number of homes near the Suburban Propane Company along Highway 41.

Firefighters worked through Tuesday night, keeping hundreds of propane tanks cool to avoid any major explosions.

The fire decimated the front office of the business.
