The head coach of Vanden High School’s football team was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of embezzlement.

Fairfield Police say an officer assigned to the Vanden campus was tipped off about the possible embezzlement Aug. 12.

Levon Haynes, 42, was arrested Tuesday at a home on Shasta Drive. Police say search warrants were executed at two homes in Fairfield – the Shasta Drive home and another on Shorey Way.

Investigators say Haynes embezzled thousands of dollars from athletic fundraisers.
