With domestic violence thrust back into national headlines, one local group says it’s underscoring their mission – remembering a mother who was killed by her ex-boyfriend.

Kacie Barron was killed in 2006, and ripped away from her friends and family. Now, those same people keep her memory alive by riding through Hope Valley Run.

The ride is Saturday, Sept. 13, and registration is at the Bell Tower on Main Street in Placerville.
