SACRAMENTO COUNTY-

A man who was shot and died after crashing in front of an In-N-Out restaurant in Arden Arcade, has a connection to a recent murder case.

Tuesday night, an injured man walked into the In-N-Out along the Alta-Arden Expressway saying he and another man had been shot.

Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies believe the two were shot in a drive-by incident at a nearby apartment complex. They then drove onto Alta-Arden and crashed into a median.

FOX40 has learned, the man who died in that shooting, Marquelle Jones, was a witness in the December 2010 barbershop shooting.

Two brothers were found guilty in the earlier shooting, and the death of a young mother who was killed in the crossfire. The court case wrapped up just last month.

The brothers, Louis and Lonnie Mitchell, were convicted of weapons charges and in the murder of Monique Nelson. Nelson died while shielding her young son from gunfire in the South Sacramento parking lot.

There is no indication Jones' death is connected to his having witnessed the 2010 shooting.

Investigators say they have no new information about this week's shooting.
