PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI)-

Every parent starts to imagine family roadtrips, vacations and memories before their child is born. For a Philadelphia couple, they decided to start ticking off items on their “bucket list” before their child arrived.

UPDATE: Baby Shane has been born

That’s because Jenna and Dan Haley’s unborn son, Shane, was diagnosed with anencephaly. A condition that causes babies to be born without parts of their brain and skull. Many newborns with the condition die soon after birth.

“Most families wait until their baby is born to start making memories and traveling to places with them,” Dan told WPVI. “We understood what it was and knew that our time with our son could be very limited, so we wanted to make the most of the time that we had with him.”

The couple came up with a list of places and activities they love and would want to share with their son. They have been updating friends and family of their adventures on a Facebook page.

“We truly value every minute that we have with our son,” Dan said, “and we thank God every night for blessing us with such a special little boy,”

They have been working so hard on creating these memories, that earlier this week, they finished their list.
