PERTH, Australia-

The first Australian to own the latest version of Apple’s iPhone dropped it during an interview with Channel 9’s TODAY.

The station reported eager fans waiting overnight outside the Apple Store in Perth.

As new iPhone owner Jack Cooksey opened the box, the phone fell and made a loud “smack” on the ground – in front of everyone.

That loud, bone-chilling smack of an iPhone against pavement,.

Luckily for Cooksey, it seems the phone was undamaged. Perhaps he’ll be back in line for a case and screen protector.
