SACRAMENTO-

Police responded to a call Thursday morning and found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. This happened early in the morning off 4th Avenue and 35th Street in the Oak Park neighborhood.

The man was shot in the thigh and the woman was shot in the shoulder. They were taken to the hospital and are both expected to recover.

While being questioned by the police, the two victims said they were being followed near 32nd Street.

It is unclear if the victims knew their attackers. According to police,  the two people were not robbed, and it could have been an isolated incident.

Authorities have yet to release details about the suspects. They were last seen running away down 36th Street.
