A man is in custody after exposing himself twice in five days at the Sacramento State University campus.

Sacramento State University Police arrested Shawan Wimberley on Friday. They received a call at around 2:15 p.m., that a man was exposing himself at the University Union.

They found and chased Wimberley, until he tried to leap over a short wall near the stairwell, but fell, breaking his leg along the way.

Campus Police said Wimberley is not a student at the University.

“That’s kind of messed up. That’s kind of gross,” freshman, Jace Hardwick said.

Police said this was not the first time Wimberley had exposed himself on campus. In fact, he was the man who fled police, after exposing himself to a female student at the Academic Information Resource Center on Oct. 5. The victim said he sat at her table, stared at her for a few minutes, then exposed himself.

Many students said they would be more careful when walking around campus, but admitted they are not surprised that it happened.

“I think it is gross, but I don’t think it’s that unexpected because it’s not a closed campus,” student Samantha Shook said. “You get people on campus all the time just wandering around.”

“We have our Sac State Police, but then none of them know if he is actually a student or not,” student Melissa Paredes said.

Wimberley is now in custody. He will be booked into jail, after he has been treated of his injuries.
