FORT COLLINS, Colorado (KDVR)-

The cereal killer in Fort Collins has been found.

It turns out the mystery of who was making the run on Count Chocula cereal boxes from two Albertsons stores in the city is craft brewer Black Bottle Brewery. The brewery admitted to snatching up the delicious morning favorite so it can make a small-batch beer, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reported.

Black Bottle General Manager Steve Marrick told The Coloradoan the brewery’s “Cerealiously” beer series will include the marshmallow-bit cereal. Other cereals to have been created into brews have included Golden Grahams, Reese’s Puffs and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

“We put the cereal into a hop back so it doesn’t get into the beer,” Marrick told the newspaper. “We did it as a joke at first, but the beer turned out well.”
